Statistical Consulting for your Project from Start to Finish
Five Steps to Project Completion

Step 1: Concept

  • We help you to articulate your research goals, whether you need to improve the  ROI of your business, obtain grant funding, get a paper accepted for publication, or complete your dissertation.
  • Our statistical consultants translate your ideas into a research design with hypotheses that can be tested using accepted statistical methods.
  • The method for data collection, e.g., a survey instrument or designed experiment, is conceptualized.

Step 2: Study Design and Methodology

  • We will assist you in the development and organization of procedures to test your hypotheses.
  • The appropriate statistical methods are selected based on the hypotheses, as well as the experiments and procedures.
  • A data collection plan is developed and a survey is developed, if necessary.  The survey will be designed to facilitate the statistical plan.
  • A power analysis will determine the sample size necessary to detect differences meaningful to your study.  An insufficient sample size can jeopardize the publication of results or grant funding, and may invalidate results.
  • A database compatible with the data collection plan and statistical methods will be designed.

Step 3: Data Management

  • Data programming and recoding.
  • Data cleaning will be performed, including data consistency checking.
  • Missing data will be analyzed.

Step 4: Statistical Analysis

  • The statistical analysis will be performed with careful attention to the assumptions of each statistical method.
  • At this stage the analysis plan can be revised or extended based on the study results.
  • Transformations and recoding will be performed if warranted to prevent statistical test assumption violations.
  • Statistical analysis results are outlined and evaluated.

Step 5: Report/Presentation

  • Description of your statistical results and explanation of their validity.
  • Development of tables and graphs.
  • Conclusion and future research plans.
